To the never-ending horizons in blue to the deepest depths of the ocean,
Fisheries Science deals with the study of a diverse set of aquatic environments
such as high seas, rivers, coastal areas and oceans. Fisheries Science is a multi-
disciplinary science draws on the study of fish processing, oceanography,
freshwater biology, marine biology, bioeconomics, ecology and much more.
Fisheries Science is taught at university levels in undergraduate and
postgraduate courses which are known as BFSc – Bachelors in Fisheries Science
and MFSc – Masters in Fisheries Science. Students can opt to take up a course
straight away after their class 12, but aspiring students will have to meet the
eligibility criteria and must have the required skills in order to excel in the field.
